- Final Fantasy V Four Job Fiesta Handbook — the number one source for the Fiesta, with strategy breakdowns and class descriptions, noting particularly good strategies or class landmines, and then notes on the bosses.
- Enkibot: yet another fiesta helper — a hint file generator based on the classes you got in the Fiesta. Less detail on the classes and bosses, but instead more of a guided description of your options. Couple odd mistakes though.
- Mix Chart — by someone named Kyrosiris, this is a handy reference for every Chemist !Mix in the game.
- Final Fantasy V Perfect Conquest — a Japanese guidebook from when the game came out, this has pretty good maps. There's a bunch of other information, and a section in the back with data on items, weapons, mixes, summons, bosses, and the like, but naturally it's all in Japanese, so I don't try to fumble through those sections often.
Version
When I don't have much time to sit down and play (which is often), I play the Pixel Remaster version. My favorite is the SFC version, with the following patches:
- Inu's bugfix patch collection — a foundational set of patches that fix
glitches and make small improvements to the game, such as a dash button and removing the ability to exploit a couple
bosses.
- There are too many to list here, but you can see my full notes at Run 0 of the 2024 Fiesta.
- FF5 Job Unlocker — makes all jobs available at the start of the game, making for more interesting early game on a Meteor Run. For example, I started my 2024 run with Dancer.
- Automatic Sprint, Learning, etc. — somewhat redundant with other patches, but adds Find Pits and Passages.
- Replace the Drag/Speed Spell — replaces the useless Speed spell with Haste.
- No Missable Items & Spells — just here for sheer convenience, haven't actually tried it out in practice yet, but it moves some drops around and adds a shop to buy missable items and spells to the Dwarven shops.
- Legend of the Crystals — a mostly-for-the-better update of the original RPGe translation. Pirate Faris is still wonky, but overall it's a good translation. I may tweak this at some point.
- Better Item Menu — item sorting groups weapons by type. That's all.
- Super Custom Classes — a weird one, this allows for three command slots to be customized in the Abilities menu, rather than just one, and makes more equipment usable by more jobs. I've included this for more variety in the Fiesta.

I will also play the Pixel Remaster version out of convenience, e.g. if I expect not to be at my Super Nt or MiSTer for a while, but it's a very vanilla experience, as you'd expect.
